Nitrile O-Rings (Buna-N, NBR)

Nitrile, also known as NBR or Buna-N. Nitrile o-rings are the most commonly used o-ring, due to its excellent resistance to petroleum products and good physical properties. The chemical description is acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (ASTM 1418 NBR), (ASTM D2000; BF, BG, BK, CH).

Nitrile NSF 61 O-Rings

Nitrile, also known as NBR or Buna-N. Nitrile o-rings are the most commonly used o-ring, due to its excellent resistance to petroleum products and good physical properties. Nitrile NSF 61 is certified by NSF / ANSI standard 61 and is safe for use in water systems where drinking water may come in contact with the seal.

HNBR O-Rings (HSN, Highly Saturated Nitrile)

HNBR, also known as HSN or hydrogenated nitrile. HNBR o-rings are commonly used in place of Nitrile o-rings where high temperature is a factor. The chemical description is hydrogenated acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (ASTM 1418 HNBR), (ASTM D2000 DH).

EPDM O-Rings (EP, EPR, EPT)

EPDM, also known as EP, EPR, or EPT. EPDM o-rings has gained wide acceptance in the sealing industry due to its diverse chemical resistances which other seals are not compatible with. The chemical description is ethylene-propylene rubber (ASTM 1418 EPDM), (ASTM D2000; BA, CA, DA).

EPDM NSF 61 O-Rings (EP, EPT, EPR)

EPDM NSF 61 is certified by NSF / ANSI standard 61 and is safe for use in water systems where drinking water may come in contact with the seal. The
chemical description is ethylene-propylene rubber (ASTM 1418 EPDM), (ASTM D2000; BA, CA, DA).

Butyl O-Rings (IIR)

Butyl, is a synthetic rubber which exhibits air impermeability and is well suited for use in protective clothing, gas mask and tire tubing. The chemical description is Isobutylene Isoprene rubber (ASTM 1418 IIR), (ASTM D2000; AA,BA,CA).

Silicone O-Rings (VMQ, PVMQ)

Silicone, also known as VMQ or PVMQ. Silicone o-rings are commonly used in automotive, food & beverage and medical industries due to its extreme temperature ranges and non-reactive nature. The chemical description is silicone rubber (ASTM 1418 VMQ) (ASTM D2000; FC, FE, GE).

Fluorosilicone O-Rings (FVMQ)

Fluorosilicone, also known as FVMQ. Fluorosilicone o-rings are commonly used in the aviation industry as static seals, combining most of the qualities of silicone with resistances to petroleum oils and hydrocarbon fuels. The chemical description is Fluorosilicone rubber (ASTM 1418 FVMQ) (ASTM D2000 FK).
Neoprene, also known as Chloroprene or CR. Neoprene o-rings are commonly used in place of other o-rings when both petroleum oils and weathering is a factor. The chemical description is chloroprene rubber (ASTM 1418 CR), (ASTM D2000; BC, BE).

Fluorocarbon, also known as FKM, Viton® or Fluorel®. Fluorocarbon o-rings are the closest to an universal elastomer available due to its diverse chemical resistances, low swell, and UV light and ozone resistances. The chemical description is Fluorocarbon rubber (ASTM 1418 FKM), (ASTM D2000; HK).

Polyacrylate, also known as ACM. Polyacrylate o-rings are commonly used in place of other o-rings as petroleum fuel and oil seals where continuous high temperatures are a factor. The chemical description is Polyacrylate rubber (ASTM 1418 ACM), (ASTM D2000 EH). Polyacrylate is available as a speciality compound.

SBR O-Rings (Styrene-Butadiene)

SBR, also known as Styrene-butadiene. SBR o-rings are commonly used hydraulic brake systems due to excellent resistances to hydraulic fluids, brake fluids and water. The chemical description is Styrene-butadiene rubber (ASTM 1418 SBR), (ASTM D2000; AA, BA). SBR is available as a speciality compound.

Natural Rubber O-Rings (Isoprene)

Natural rubber is commonly referred to by its synthetic name Isoprene, which exhibits the same properties as natural rubber. The chemical description is Natural rubber (ASTM 1418 NR), (ASTM D2000; AA). Natural Rubber is available as a speciality compound.
